Read the article below to know the most common skincare mistakes that you should definitely avoid.

1.Skipping Sunscreen

Sunscreen is one of the must-use skincare products that you should never skip. Sunscreens protect your skin from sun damage that can not only cause sunburn but also cause wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and skin dehydration. It can also speed up the appearance of aging signs!

Make sure to use a broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect your face from both UVA & UVB rays. Reapply your sunscreen every two to three hours.

2.Washing Your Face with Hot or Cold Water

Applying hot water can strip your face of its natural oils and damage your skin. Applying ice is even more catastrophic! It can cause severe inflammation and dehydration. Make sure to wash your face using lukewarm water to keep your skin barrier as healthy and intact as possible.

3. Getting obsessed

Getting obsessed can damage your skin, whether it's with a certain ingredient or a specific act in your routine. For example, washing your face more than twice a day can damage your skin barrier and dehydrate your skin, regardless of your skin type.

Stick to a healthy balanced routine where you use ingredients that suit your skin type and condition.

4. Using Physical Scrubs on Facial Skin

While exfoliating facial skin is a crucial step in getting rid of dead skin. Physical exfoliants, AKA scrubs, can do more harm than benefits. It scrapes your skin causing micro-tears, leading to skin damage. Instead, exfoliate your skin with chemical or enzymatic exfoliants once a week or according to the package instructions.

5.Sleeping with Your Makeup On

While makeup itself isn't harmful, sleeping with it is one of the worst mistakes you can ever do to your skin. Imagine sleeping with layers of makeup that may contain comedogenic oils, and God knows what else, sitting on your skin and getting into your pores. Disgusting, right? Make sure to remove your makeup and cleanse your skin properly before heading to bed. Have you made any of the above mistakes? Share with us in the comments.
